| Gotive, the developer and producer
of Wireless Enterprise Communicators (WEC), is pleased to announce
two unique models of Docking Stations (DS) for its WEC
H41. One of them is configured for secure in-car docking (DSV
– Vehicle), one model with a distinctive cross-shaped foot
is designed
for desk-top usage (DSI – Indoor). The difference of Gotive
DS from the classical concept of docking stations lies in the comfort,
which Gotive docking stations are offering to the user. This comfort
is provided to the user by several outstanding features, placing
the highest emphasis on easy operability, secure positioning of
the WEC and added connectivity and functionality.
DS for H41 fulfils more than the traditional role of a safe place
to put the communicator in. Nevertheless, it still is a docking
station in the first place. To make the docking secure and protect
the device in it, DS is as robust as the WEC, and it supports the
whole basal area and embraces the edges of the WEC, preventing it
from damage or an accidental knock-down. WEC connectors are ruggedised
in order to provide a safe and reliable connection with the docked
WEC even in adverse or harsh conditions of industrial environment.
Probably the most outstanding one from the comfort features is
the unique concept of multidirectional rotation, possible thanks
to the multipositioning arm, which allows to turn the cradle with
the device 60 degrees each direction (25 degrees on the desktop).
This is especially convenient for docking the H41 in the car: the
device can be faced towards the driver or his co-driver, portrait,
landscape or any other direction, all the time legible and at hand.
The same works for the desktop version, so called “indoor”
docking station – the device can face whatever direction suits
the user the best.
Another distinctive feature of Gotive DS H41 is an option to integrate
built-in GPS module directly into DS, and accompany it by an external
GPS antenna. This option is especially valuable to those customers
who find it important to determine the position of the vehicle at
any given moment, without the necessity of the WEC being docked
in the DS. GPS option can serve to monitor the vehicle in daily
use, or to help in unwanted situations, like loss or theft of the
vehicle.
Further feature designed for user’s convenience is the intelligent
recharging and powering system of the Gotive DS. Every time WEC
is docked, the DS automatically starts to recharge WEC battery.
At the same time, the device performance is powered directly from
the docking station itself, instead of using its battery. This is
an effective way to save the battery and ensure its longest possible
life when using the WEC outside the vehicle.
There are several more comfort and functional details that make
Gotive DS H41 an intelligent device rather than just a holder for
the communicator. For example four round Action Keys, located on
the front side of the docking station, are clearly visible and easy
to access, and programmable to any function of the device. The DS
includes two styluses in case the operation of WEC requires - or
the user prefers - using a stylus instead of fingers. Standard RS
232 and USB connectors, together with keyboard plug and stereo jack
for hands-free/headset applications add more connectivity at times
when wireless connection is not necessary.
