Parallel with the opening of the essential
global mobile industry event 3GSM World Congress 2005 in Cannes,
France, Gotive presents the latest product line of its communicators
for mobile enterprise, which are built upon Intel’s innovative
family of XScale processors.
Gotive develops,
markets, and sells highly innovative enterprise communicators. They
feature unrivalled choice of built-in wireless communication, navigation,
and data capture options, which are combined according to the requirements
of the project in a single unit – from several pieces for
a small operation up to hundreds or thousand of systems for a multinational
companies. Gotive communicators feature an exceptionally large half
VGA (6,2“ 640 x 240 pixel) touch screen LCD to provide large
area for displaying data and easy data input by fingers, significant
on-board memory capacity of 384 MB, including 128 MB RAM and 192
MB user-accessible non-volatile Flash memory, further extendable
by CF, SD/MMC cards, and user-accessible SIM card slots. They are
built on standard Microsoft operating system (CE.NET 4.2 and CE
5.0) and the latest product line of the Gotive communicators exploits
the potential of Intel’s high-performance processor Intel
XScale PXA270 520 MHz designed to meet the needs of the demanding
handheld product environment.
„Gotive is
introducing one of the first implementations of newest Intel®
XScale® Processor combined with Intel® Flash Memory in Europe,“
says Jarek Matschey, Intel Area Sales Manager for communication
products in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Intel® PXA27x family of processors, formerly code-named
"Bulverde," adds a number of new technologies to address
the needs of cell phone and PDA users. It is the first product to
integrate the Intel Wireless MMX™ technology, providing additional
performance for 3-D games and advanced video while improving battery-life.
The new chip also utilizes Wireless Intel SpeedStep® technology,
enabling significant power savings by intelligently managing voltage
and frequency changes similar to the technology used in the company's
notebook processors. The PXA27x processors incorporate a comprehensive
set of system and peripheral functions that make it useful in a
variety of low-power applications.
„Newest Intel technologies will allow Gotive to design high
modularity products to meet various customer needs,“ Matschey
adds.
“Our concept of merging excellent performance of the device
system with hardware modularity, rugged construction, outstanding
visual design and personalisation elements turns every Gotive communicator
into an ideal working as well as marketing tool to bring more efficiency
and to secure investment into the enterprise solutions”, says
Anna Rosivalova, Gotive PR Manager.
“We have so far addressed a lot of vertical markets through
our chain of distributors in Europe. In Cannes, we expect to meet
a completely new audience and we are sure, that as Gotive communicators
met the needs of many companies, they have the potential to become
a notable product class in the portfolios of network operators,
of course, rather for their business customers than for the individual
end-users.”
